Which screen, for which job
Guests
Their own phones. Any phone camera opens the table's QR code; phones with NFC can tap the tag instead. No app, no account.
Kitchen
A tablet (10 inches or larger reads best), a TV with a browser, or a laptop, signed in with the kitchen login.
Billing counter
A laptop, computer or tablet. Bills open as printable GST invoices for any printer that device can print to.
Owner and manager
Your phone or laptop: the dashboard, menu, stock, staff and reports, wherever you are.
Staff clock-in
One shared device at the restaurant where staff clock in and out with their PIN and tick off today's checklists.
Tablets from us
If you would rather not use your own: tablets set up and signed in to their screen, with serial number and warranty recorded by us. Priced in your quote.
At the tables
A QR code and an NFC tag for every table
Each table gets its own code, so an order always knows where it came from. You get each table's QR code ready to print, and the link to write onto an NFC tag. Printed stands and ready-written tags can be added to your quote.
What you need
- An up-to-date web browser (Chrome, Edge, Safari or Firefox)
- Wi-Fi or mobile data at the restaurant
- One screen for the kitchen, one for billing
- A printer, if you want printed bills
Hardware questions
Do I need to buy new hardware?
Usually not. Every screen runs in a web browser, so the phones, tablets and laptops you already have will work. Most restaurants add one tablet for the kitchen.
Can the kitchen screen be a TV?
Yes, if the TV has a web browser, or with a small computer or stick connected to it. The kitchen screen is dark, high-contrast and made to be read across a room.
Can I print bills?
Yes. Each bill opens as a printable GST invoice and prints to any printer the device can print to, including a receipt printer set up on that device.
Does it work without internet?
No. Screens need Wi-Fi or mobile data. Each screen shows its connection: Live, Auto-refresh when live updates cannot get through, or Reconnecting while the connection is down, and catches up by itself when it is back.
Do you sell tablets?
Yes, as part of your quote: kitchen and counter tablets, set up and signed in to their screen, with the serial number and warranty recorded by us. Your plan sets how many tablets from us you can have.
